Business Analyst/Implementation Consultant

The Professional Services team is seeking a Business Analyst/Implementation Consultant, who will develop trust relationships with both the specific Edifecs client as well as the trading partners of the client.  They will interact both with IS and IT groups internal to client operations as well as with IS and IT groups for the client’s business partners to determine appropriate computer-related solutions to business problems.  The appropriate candidate will have skills in developing presentation materials appropriate to business users; documenting business and technical requirements using document templates provided by multiple business entities; and be experienced in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) specifically focusing on test case development, documentation, and execution; data manipulation; and test team coordination.  The Business Analyst/Implementation Consultant provides analysis, definition and direction to computer-related development and maintenance activities, and assists with ensuring that correct business functionality, requirements, and industry standards are addressed within the computer applications.

What you will do:


  • Assist in the acquisition of business and technical requirements from a variety of sources
  • Write detailed business and technical requirements that can serve as the functional specification for developed solutions
  • Analyze EDI implementation guides to define data and rules requirements
  • Write rules for data mapping and transformation
  • Review and manage code sets
  • Analyze and report on data quality
  • Write proof of concept reports using a variety of reporting methods
  • Develop sample data for use in the SDLC at all testing levels (unit, function, user acceptance, end-to-end, integration, and regression)
  • Provide support for analytic and reporting issues
  • Provide support and maintain the Client Edifecs onboarding tool
  • Assist in development of product and technical documentation
  • Troubleshoot and analyze customer problems, challenges, bugs etc. to cater implementation requirements by leveraging industry and Edifecs product knowledge and experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an appropriate field
  • 2+ years healthcare information experience
  • Availability to work during Central Time Zone hours
  • Baseline understanding of healthcare business and its regulations including the Healthcare Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Understanding of electronic data processing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of client requirements gathering (business and technical), and documenting requirements to create appropriate SDLC documentation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of test case creation, execution, including data manipulation and documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to create trust based relationships with Clients, including working with business partners of clients.
  • Strong understanding of information technology
  • Project Management experience is a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to follow through
  • Excellent organizational, prospecting and follow-up skills
  • Self-motivated, problem solving skills; must be a self-starter
  • Experience in a fast paced, start-up environment a plus
