Axway and Edifecs Form Strategic Partnership To Benefit Healthcare Payors

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. and BELLEVUE, WA., (November 10, 2008) - In order to provide solutions that make claims and other transaction processing easier for healthcare companies, Axway, recognized leader of collaborative business solutions and Edifecs, leader in data quality and compliance solutions have formed a strategic alliance. The partnership will help healthcare payors and healthcare benefit providers improve workflow, making it easier to manage their businesses and increase their competitive advantage.

By combining Axway's SynchronyTM platform with Edifecs' data quality and compliance adaptors, customers will have a comprehensive business-to-business (B2B) solution that will help them address industry standards. The solution will enable rapidly deployed secure connectivity, specification authoring and publishing, trading partner on-boarding and management, business activity monitoring (BAM), and message format and data content validation. It will also help organizations achieve Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance in transactions and code sets, with support for validation of WEDI-SNIP Types 1-6 out-of-the-box, and support for easily implementing Type 7.

"Axway's deep expertise in data integration combined with our proven data quality products, addresses a key problem for many organizations - managing business-critical data in motion," said Herb Larsen, senior vice president of alliances at Edifecs. "Axway's and Edifecs' solutions are highly complementary, and together provide unmatched capabilities for managing the complex business-to-business relationships today's enterprise must support."

The partnership will target organizations providing and administrating healthcare benefits for individuals and companies. These organizations need to:

  • Bring on board and successfully manage thousands of trading partners that submit transactions for eligibility, claims, claim status, enrollments, authorizations and premium payments
  • Improve workflow for business processes around development and management of HIPAA-compliant and non-HIPAA data files
  • Implement efficient and secure platforms for building and managing complex electronic data interchange (EDI) transactions and create the ability to send large files quickly and easily, as well as perform real-time transactions
  • Make it easier to do business with them by deploying a flexible and scalable infrastructure to meet the growing needs of their customers and partners
  • Be compliant with all types of current and future regulations

"This partnership combines our experience and knowledge to create solutions that make it easier for our customers to process claims and other transactions, be compliant with government regulations, and improve customer satisfaction," said Sia Zadeh, director of business development at Axway. "We'll bring solutions to the industry that improve business processes, which can, in turn, reduce costs and improve responsiveness."
