Edifecs’ SpecBuilderTM selected as Development Platform for GS1 EDI Standards

Bellevue, WA. June 4, 2007 — Edifecs, Inc., the leader in B2B interoperability solutions for Total Quality and ComplianceTM, announces that Edifecs’ SpecBuilder has been selected as the development platform for GS1 US’s Industrial/Commercial (I/C), Uniform Communication Standard (UCS) and Voluntary Inter-industry Commerce Solutions (VICS) EDI standards. GS1 US is a respected leader in global commerce and dedicated to the adoption and implementation of global supply chain solutions. SpecBuilder was instrumental in the creation of the newly released I/C 5030, UCS 5030 and VICS 5030 Implementation Guidelines for EDI.

Edifecs’ SpecBuilder software provides a powerful, efficient tool for working with all types of B2B standards. While GS1 US uses SpecBuilder with ANSI X12, SpecBuilder also supports UN/EDIFACT, OAGIS, RosettaNet, and many other types of EDI, XML and proprietary flat file standards. With SpecBuilder’s easy to use specification, authoring, and publishing modules, enterprises can customize the message model to meet their business requirements and communicate them with their supply chain partners. An enterprise can further use the specification to apply checks and filters on the production data files to ensure that back-end applications and data warehouses contain accurate transaction data, and throughput for B2B automation is optimized.

“SpecBuilder has been a great addition to our standards development efforts. It has enabled us to react more quickly to our customers’ needs for enhanced standards development, as well as centralize various components of our guideline development process” said Steve Rosenberg, Director of Electronic Commerce at GS1 US. “We look forward to the continued use of SpecBuilder as we help businesses achieve efficiency and compliance.”

“Edifecs is pleased to be supporting the efforts of GS1 US and its important work of standardizing business processes for the industries it serves”, said Sunny Singh, CEO of Edifecs.
