Edifecs Announces the Release of SpecBuilderTM and XEngineTM 6.2 and Offers a Special Easy Migration Program

Bellevue, WA. October 11, 2006 — Edifecs, a leader in B2B interoperability solutions for Total Quality and Total ComplianceTM is pleased to announce the general availability of its market-leading specification authoring, testing and production validation tools, SpecBuilder 6.2 and XEngine 6.2, along with a new customer migration program. Both SpecBuilder and XEngine support an extensive list of B2B standards such X12, HIPAA, HL7, NCPDP, NSF, UB , VICS, UN/EDIFACT, RosettaNet, flat file formats, and XML based formats such as XML Schema (XSD).

Edifecs’ SpecBuilder and XEngine software ensure operational interoperability with trading partners by validating healthcare and general industry transactions for syntax, semantics and trading partner specific business rules. Specification authoring and publishing tools, along with real-time checks and filters on the data entering/exiting an enterprise provide better reassurance for organizations that back-end applications and data warehouses contain accurate transaction data, and throughput for automation is optimized.

New functionality in 6.2 includes:

  • Support for COBOL copy books
  • Large data file support for Spec Analyzer
  • Additional documentation capabilities with up to 20 rich or plain text user notes
  • Customizable workspace perspective with the ability to turn on or off individual user-interface panes
