Payformance Selects Edifecs for Robust HIPAA Validation

Edifecs, the leading provider of B2B solutions for transaction-based interoperability, today announced it has entered into an agreement to license Payformance Corporation its EDI adapter, Edifecs XEngine, for HIPAA and proprietary message validation in conjunction with the Payformance MS BizTalk Server 2003. XEngine supports an extensive list of EDI standards for healthcare and other industries, allowing users to process EDI transactions both natively as well as within the Service Oriented Architectures (SOA’s) environments. Edifecs XEngine’s EDI standards support includes such healthcare standards as HlPAA X12, NCPDP, HL7, NSF, UB92, flat file formats, and XML based formats like XML Schema (XSD).
Edifecs XEngine ensures operational interoperability with trading partners by validating healthcare and general industry transactions for syntax, semantics and trading partner specific business rules. By having real-time checks and filters on the data entering an enterprise, organizations are assured that back-end applications and data warehouses contain accurate transaction data.
