Common Compliance in Healthcare Transaction Standards:
Keys to Success

Wednesday, August 18, 2004 1:00 – 2:30 PM Central -- A 2004 study by the HIPAA Conformance Certification Organization (HCCO) analyzed the compliance edits of 80% of the nation’s translators and transaction testing and certification vendors. The results were startling. Less than 45% of the time, study participants agreed on compliance edits for the HIPAA ASC X12 837 Professional Claim transaction and even less for other transactions.

Aligning compliance edits across the industry is vital. As all of us who has attempted to implement the 837 transaction know, differing HIPAA compliance validation edits is one of the greatest impediments to timely implementation and the successful ongoing exchange of healthcare transactions between trading partners. The cost to the industry is in the millions and promises to grow as more transactions are implemented.

Join industry experts from HCCO, X12 and WEDI-SNIP along with healthcare providers, health plans and vendors as we discuss the challenge of achieving common compliance and the resources available to assist us.
