How do I find the certification tool on the Edifecs website?

You can go to www.edifecs.com and click on the Edifecs Compliance Online banner, or you can go directly to the Log-In screen by following the link below: http://www.edifecs.com/login.jsp


Why do I need to certify my transactions?

Many payers require that your transactions are HIPAA compliant. The Edifecs Compliance Online tool provides a testing platform to ensure that the information you are sending meets these HIPAA guidelines.


Is there a charge for this service?

Yes, please refer to the fee schedule below:

I only want to test 1 transaction, is there still a fee?

Edifecs Compliance Online is a fee based subscription service. We have designed our pricing model so that smaller providers with low utilization can still afford to use and benefit from the service.


How do I set up an account?

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to www.edifecs.com and click on the box that says ‘Edifecs Compliance Online’
  2. One of the options you’ll have is to ‘Register for this service’
  3. Complete the Registration Form and then click ‘Submit’
  4. Print the Registration Form, as you’ll need to send this along with your payment to:

       Edifecs, Inc

       Bellevue, WA 98004
       Attention: Accounts Receivable

Once we have received your payment, we will activate your service and you will be notified via e-mail.


What if I want to use the service but I am not a Provider?

Please contact Edifecs at info@edifecs.com and describe your business model and what you would like to use the service for. We will then contact you to discuss setting up an Edifecs Compliance Online Account


What are the ‘Scope of Use’ limitations?

As stated in the End User License Agreement (EULA), your subscription allows you to send up to 100 files per month, and each file can be up to 30MB in size. If you feel that you need to send more files and/or larger files, please contact Edifecs at info@edifecs.com and we will consider this request and related pricing considerations.


What happens if I send more than 100 files during the month?

Edifecs monitors compliance and reserves the right to terminate your subscription if the scope of use limitations are not followed. If you feel that you need to send more than 100 files per month, please contact Edifecs at info@edifecs.com and we will consider this request and related pricing considerations.


How long may I use Edifecs Compliance Online?

Once you pay the annual subscription fee, your account will be active for one year. You may renew the subscription annually by following the instructions for renewal on the Edifecs website.


Does Edifecs offer other compliance testing solutions?

What might cause my transaction to be rejected?

The service is currently configured so that transactions with more than 300 errors will automatically be rejected. We do not have any plans to increase this presently.

Are all the HIPAA requirements being used in the Edifecs Compliance Online tool?

Yes, Edifecs Compliance Online uses strict HIPAA rules and WEDI SNIP 1-7.


Is the Edifecs Compliance Online tool strictly HIPAA compliant?

Yes, we adhere to strict HIPAA rules.


Can Edifecs Compliance Online create a transaction?

No, Edifecs Compliance Online will only test your existing transaction.


How do I get my transaction to go through the Edifecs Compliance Online tool?

Once you have logged in to Edifecs Compliance Online, follow the wizard to test your transaction.


Who do I contact if I have a problem with this service?

Once you are activated as a customer, you may contact our help desk at support@edifecs.com.


When will I receive my password?

Your password will be sent by e-mail within two business days following receipt of payment.


How do I pay for this service and where do I send my payment?

You may pay by credit card, check, or electronic transfer. If paying by check, please print a copy of the Registration Confirmation and mail it along with your check to:
